Democratic Senate aides say the Senate parliamentarian has ruled against including a minimum wage increase in the Democrats’ massive COVID-19 relief billhttp://apne.ws/lQusEPo

I'm all for a fair minimum wage, but it shouldn't be tagged onto a Covid relief bill...it should stand on its own. Enough with sneaking shit onto bills.
-
It didn't get "snuk" onto the bill everybody knew it would be there before the bill was released...

Who is she and who voted for her?

Parliamentarians are appointed by each house - they are nonpartisan "referees" of each house's rules.

Just fire her. That’s what the GOP did back during W. Bush and NO. ONE. CARED.

$7.25 an hour. Dems are weak and will lose it all in elections next year. There is no justification for this ruling! Trumps entire $2 trillion per year tax break for the rich had nothing in it that bothered the parliamentarian? It flew through using reconciliation.
-
The justification is the effect on Social Security: while a minimum wage increase does increase income and Social Security taxes collected, it also increases the income by which future benefits are paid. Low-income voters should remember it was REPUBLICANS who kept them poor!

There is always a remedy under Robert’s Rules. I’d like to know the details of this situation.
