Officials have launched rotating power outages in Texas, where falling temperatures led to a surge in electricity use. A utility tracking site reported over 1.3 million customers without power overnight as authorities worked to conserve energy.http://apne.ws/KoHTCpN

How do the customers stay warm when the electricity is turned off. What about the customers with medical equipment? Is there not a better way? Just asking.

I think there are some that are “rotating” , for some of us they just left us hanging. Not sure if it is broken, or special “rotating” for some. 9 hrs is approaching dangerous. Texas does not have the means to handle this cold without electricity.

Last time this happened there they opened up schools for shelter before dark the same day. Been nice if it was opened sooner but at least was eventually done even though power was restored shortly after. Hope it doesn't last much longer for you.

Infrastructure. This is where investment needs to go if we're to survive this now-annual battering by nature and climate in flux.

As Texas relies more on green energy, as CA does, this may increasehttps://www.statesman.com/story/news/2021/02/14/historic-winter-storm-freezes-texas-wind-turbines-hampering-electric-generation/4483230001/ …

I'm in central Texas- and the rolling blackouts are lasting more than 2 hours, (2.5 hours so far in 10 degree weather) which is a lot different than the 10-40 minute claim from @austinenergy and @ERCOT_ISO

I can assure you it's not "rotating". We're in Austin and we've been without power for over 2.5 hours with no communication whatsoever.
