This comment is absolutely absurd. The death of even one child is too high a cost. Not to mention they spread the virus to teachers and family members. Mabe if adults could act like adults and listen to the guidelines and wear masks schools could remain open.

No the pandemic is not going to "wipe out" the progress. It is going to cause a one year delay in that progress.

Even for students without disabilities, it's been a challenge. I think some teachers became more lenient. That doesn't work. You need to be strict but compassionate and understanding bc otherwise, your students will slip away. Model how to be adaptive, resilient and determined.

What a mess this pandemic is wreaking. We should study how the world survived the even worse Spanish Flu of 1918-1920 with 30 million dead worldwide.

No, it’s worse. It’s called regression and it started when schools closed in March. No speech, ABA therapy, occupational therapy, etc. Every one of us special needs parents knew what was going to happen, and we are tired.

Why aren't these services offered through medical insurance? Adults w/ TBI or stroke could have these as out patient services. A child 0-3 would get services from a agency. Why are only schools responsible for meeting these needs? Just wondering.
