Museums are being called on to examine what's on their walls amid a national reckoning on racism. Museums are among the many institutions being pushed to better represent people of color.http://apne.ws/Xg1vFQS

Do you think they'll have enough Viking and Samurai artifacts to fill a robust PoC exhibit?

Thanks for the heads-up! I didn't know that the story had been published already. I appreciate this attention to our #MuseumsAreNotNeutral movement. Many try to silence us. But we can't be stopped. The truth is powerful. Let's build deep structural change in and through museums.

I agree with taking down statues of racist confederates. Statues are for glorifying individuals. But museums? The whole point of a museum is to reflect on and learn about the past, so that we don't forget it.

Id like it, you get random travelling exhibits or whatever but usually its someone leading a group and that person might not know proper pronouncements or additional history so it ruins interest. Museums should accommodate, they might be surprised 🤷‍♂️

Then donate some art. The 18 "major US museums" are not the only museums in the country, you know.
