Large swaths of California have no electricity Monday as utilities try to prevent the chance of their equipment sparking wildfires. The fire-weary state is being buffeted by powerful winds and dangerously dry weather conditions. http://apne.ws/Kf16YRm

They do trim trees. The issue is that the power company has only used its gains to increase profit instead of fixing and updating the power lines, so they throw sparks into dry grass, weeds, e.t.c.. This is the power company's fault- they need to be held accountable.

Once again...the gov't should provide small, portable solar units for use in emergencies.https://twitter.com/HaterJuliet/status/1268285528098684928 …

I may try to plant again, when there isn't severe thunderstorms. When I get on my kicks about solar, it is also partially due to the Derecho of 2012, which knocked out electric for 2 weeks here. I still think the gov't should supply ppl w/ small, off-grid systems for emergencies.

Either you start burying power lines in California, or increase state credits for solar installations and create a decentralized power grid. Just do something.

@HendyLA maybe CA should reconsider going all electric by a certain year. Don't think we have the infrastructure for it by 2040.

Agreed. Might also need to switch from electric to other zero emissions technologies.
