Have you heard of redlining? White people dont like sending their kids to the same schools. If they don’t live in the same area then they won’t attend our school. Guess who doesn’t live in south central? White people. Guess who’s school is in session virtually? Ours.

Given the coronavirus pandemic is disproportionately infecting minorities; it makes sense. On the other hand, good luck to those others who risked in-person schooling.

Just to be fair, speaking as a teacher, this technically doesn’t have anything to do with race. This is connected to the school administrators/board’s political affiliation. Right wing districts seek to rebut the severity of Covid. Inner city districts reverberate the severity.

I think it’s more expensive on the school district to have virtual. I sometimes wonder how was the district able to buy all students computers for virtual learning. So I’m not sure the point of this.
