Lee County, in the Appalachian Mountains of Kentucky, is one of many school districts around the country where the decision over whether to bring students back into classrooms is particularly fraught. Limited internet access means kids could fall behind.http://apne.ws/YtpzJiu

Is falling a little behind worse than dead teachers, parents, & grandparents, or kids with lifelong disabilities from COVID?

It's easy for Trump to demand parents send their kids back to school to a COVID-19 classroom trap because his privileged kid is safely remote learning. Where's common sense gone to?

Any arguments about the necessity of social engagement is not worth any one child's life, not one teacher's life, not one school employee's life, not one parent's life and not any life. Schools should not open for in-person schooling until there is no doubt it is safe to do so.

School should never reopen. Kids die getting on and off the school bus every year. It is simply not safe.

Fall behind? Fall behind what? Artificial standards we set to filter kids through life and into adulthood? An adulthood where you're not respected like a human being but just some mindless autonomous drone?
