The start of school will look very different this year because of the coronavirus, and that’s OK with the vast majority of Americans, a new AP-NORC poll finds.http://apne.ws/RtPa6vQ

The poll finds only about 1 in 10 Americans say daycare centers, preschools or K-12 schools should open this fall without restrictions. Roughly 3 in 10 say in-person instruction shouldn’t happen at all.pic.twitter.com/zCgAV0T1lR

For in-person schooling, majorities of Americans say it is essential that schools be disinfected daily, temperature checks and face masks be made mandatory, and desks be spread apart.pic.twitter.com/mMLtV0L5ou

Only 36% of Americans approve of President Trump’s handling of education issues. But a stark partisan divide in opinion about reopening suggests many Republicans are taking cues from the president, who has pushed for schools to reopen.pic.twitter.com/6Menaltc0G

Well I have tables in my room which are five feet long and spaced two feet apart between each one and the walls so it’s physically impossible to “spread them out” 🤦🏼‍♂️🤷‍♂️

THIS! In my district, the vast majority of parents want in-person school (though we will be 100% for 3 wks). My CR was too small for 24 kids last year (My largest was 28, and even THAT’S small compared to others in US!). How on earth do I spread them out if most all are back?!🤷🏻‍♀️

And to think schools were bad before. Mandatory masks, physical separation, no outside time. I'd rather keep my kid at home then send them to a literal reeducation camp. It was only metaphorical before.
