This saddens me. Don’t know how I’ll cope with this. Family is everything. You trust you’ll be there for your aging folks. Then this virus came & suddenly, things are topsy turvy. Please, please .

Humans are social creatures. We can't be socially separated forever...the long-term consequences of the shut-down may ultimately outweigh any benefit derived from it. Especially with regard to families.

My parents - healthy for 90s - are pretty much trapped in their assisted living (Calif). Told to stay in their apartment. Dad goes out for the mail and gets scolded by staff (not abusively, but firmly, apparently). I think he was fairly ok with it but is getting restless now.

Who knows how much abuse has been endured because of this nationwide lockdown, in both senior homes and with children. It is sad.
