Why do you need a law? Just ask your loved one if they’d like this in their room..? If they aren’t of sound mine then power of attorney decides. Not sure why this has to be a thing.

Every room/apartment in SNFs/ALFs should be kitted out with cameras. It keeps people honest and there's less chance for abuse/theft.

Do nursing homes ban facetime and video chat? Sounds more like prison than care.....

Okay, but if I was being cleaned after say diarrhoea and my family were watching on a camera I would consider that humiliating. Also, home many older people don't get abused and don't need a camera?

Though I understand the impulse, I would be mortified, were I a patient receiving incontinent care, or any type of treatment exposed, with a camera running.

That’s my concern too. We are assuming also that these family members have the patients care and privacy in mind. You know there are people out there who will abuse it and use the video for some other grotesque purpose.
