That happened over most of 1918, all of 1919, and some of 1920. Worst for the US was October 1918. So let's see what happens. Also, there are some countries whose response to this virus has been effective. But this isn't a race. No one wants to top the numbers set in those years.

This is why the Government always has to be prepared. The public has to be as responsible as possible in whatever protective measures work. The fact that a novel contagious virus will pop up every so often is inevitable.
