Look at the photo. That Save-A-Lot is a grocery store. Using that parking lot would close that store and turn the area into what’s called a grocery desert, forcing poor people to go miles away for food. Why not use an upscale closed mall parking lot?

There’s other solution. The shopping center clearly is easily accessible to the people that live there. If it goes away where are they going to get groceries and basic needs? The city needs to choose another site.

Using that parking lot would close the grocery store in the photo (Save-A-Lot). Poor neighborhoods don’t have many options for groceries, and closing it would force them to travel miles to get food. Why not use a closed mall parking lot?
