Boeing says it will temporarily stop producing its 737 Max jet as it struggles to get approval to put the plane back in the air. The Max has been grounded since crashes in Indonesia and Ethiopia that killed 346 people.http://apne.ws/wJw8Jhm

I mean, its more about at which point they switch over from manufacturing under the old spec and start the new safe design, thus the new planes they no longer have to retrofit. Making more planes and waiting for the fix to be completed isn't necessarily a bad move. 1/

The question is whether a "software fix" can overcome the physical design short comings...

That was the point of the 737 Max though, the only way to fit the newer engines was mount them more forward which changed the flight characteristics which necessitated the MCAS. Its not like its an extremely novel design concept. 1/

One of the most critical components of #CrisisManagement is “over-correcting” the problem. Everything @BoeingAirplanes has done w/ the #737MAX problem represents, “trying to squeak by.” At some point, possibly a CEO or two in the future, @Boeing will learn this business art form.

After "How much?" my 2nd question will be "What aircraft?" for any air fare until the 737 max is grounded for good! I wouldn't get on one if it was free 1st class! #aviation #airtravel

They should’ve done this when the 737 NGs were at least 10 years old.
