It's not Iran's responsibility to please the US. They're their own sovereign nation. Time and time again, the US has shown nothing but hostility toward Iran, from war games to sanctions.

The formal line of Iran is: talks cannot occur until sanctions against Iran are dropped, as was the case of JCPOA. Withdrawal from JCPOA doesn't give USA right to impose unilateral sanctions, which are illegal in terms of international law, ie. UN Charter to which USA subscribes.
