Are trucks driving too fast? Two U.S. senators have introduced a bill that would electronically limit tractor-trailer speeds to 65 mph, a move they say would save lives.http://apne.ws/bcplm7p

It will not save lives. It will cost more lives in the number of accidents caused by trucks not being able to keep up with the flow of traffic. If trucks are e-limited to 65 mph, so should personal vehicles. We all know that won't work, and neither will this stupid bill.

Yes they are. And they do need their own lanes, or at least lanes they are prohibited from using.

It’s not that they drive too fast...it’s that they don’t know how to drive!

Make it illegal for a car to allow itself to be passed on the right and the roads will be markedly safer. Slow traffic to the left is a far bigger hazard.

This would really throw a wrench into transportation. Many times the appointment window from their pickup to their delivery is pretty small. I work in warehousing so this would be interesting with scheduling trucks.

This combined with EDL will be an absolute nightmare. Truck scheduling is bad enough already.
