RIP James Byrd. At last, your family has justice.

I was surprised to read that many, if not most, of his family did not support his execution—they forgave him many years ago. Must be strong people, I don’t think I would be able to do the same.
-
Forgiveness is fine and God actually calls for it. However forgiveness does not eliminate any consequences.
-
Of course not. I was simply stating that if that is what they needed to do in order to find peace in life, I’m glad they were able to. Their feelings and his debt are unrelated issues.

So, he sat on death row for 20 years, reminded every day of the last evil, hateful thing he did while he was free.... and then they killed him? Yep. I’m good with that. I just wish they had dragged his ass behind a truck until he was dead.

This guy got a easy death. He should have suffered the same fate as his victim. Glad he is eliminated from the gene pool.

I said the same thing earlier ..."an eye for an eye" because he inflicted an unconscionable amount of pain and suffering upon James Byrd, Jr. The thought makes me sick.
