Volunteering to place wreaths at Arlington has been on my bucket list. An awesome way to honor.
-
It's a lovely experience, but get there early, dress warmly, and expect to stand in lines for a VERY long time. Still, the few minutes to place the wreath, especially if you have family there, is priceless. We've placed wreaths for my Dad and father-in-law in past years.

And while we are grateful for their service, I wonder if it is all Christians who will be honored this way. Wreaths for the holiday season are a Christian tradition.
-
As far as I know they place a wreath at every headstone regardless of religious denomination. While balsam wreaths could be seen as a solely Christian tradition they’ve been used by many people’s to symbolize perseverance through harsh winters/times
