RIP to those who lost their lives. Thank you to those who fight the fires. Climate change is real.
I wonder how many who’ve lost their homes or businesses to fire, floods, or hurricanes are still in denial about what climate scientists have been warning for decades. Has anyone done a survey on this?
Excellent question, Fred, and not one I've considered. I know just one person who lives in California and we have lost touch over the years. They certainly acknowledged the dangers.
Hard to be optimistic given the dire forecast for even worse to come and our technological inability and socio-political unwillingness to endeavour to mitigate what’s to come.
Holy shit. Municipalize PG&E before greed kills us all.
And it's only been burning for a couple days. The Santa Anas are expected to keep blowing for a few more days too.
Santa Anas affect SoCal
Thank you, although now that sounds even worse. What causes that kind of growth in a wildfire in NorCal?
Winds and dry conditions I’m sure but just not the Santa Ana’s
The Santa Anas are a regular thing down here. You guys just had a massive fire last year too. Thankfully I'm in the desert. They got a wildfire out here abt 10 years ago but the only place brush grows is along a wash. It can happen but there's just not much to burn.
Same city that had the shooting two nights ago is currently evacuated for the #Woolseyfire
Yeah I woke up yesterday morning & all of @ABC7's reporters were in Thousand Oaks. Normally I turn on the news for background noise but how can you when the reporters are near tears? It's different when your local station is covering the mass shooting.
It really is. That town is having a really rough week. My heart breaks for them

And not a single damn word from Trump, who will be spending Veterans day in Paris. Tell me again he gives a damn about the American People.
I've seen him tweet about everything but the fires.
Almost all of California votes for Hillary. He will never give a damn about that state. #PettyAF
Because Trump started the fires. That makes perfect sense. Do you also blame Trump for your lack of understanding of the universe?
I blame people like you who voted for a uneducated con man who has no empathy or concern for anybody but himself.
I’m willing to wager my entire life savings that you get all your news from CNN and pray to Don Lemon as your lord and savior?
Actually I read newspapers. You should try it sometime.
His life savings is probably $700 and a ‘96 Ford pick up.
