I'm legitimately curious how this happens. Keep in mind, I know nothing of fires first hand other than the basic shit. Did these people not see the fire coming?

These fires move incredibly fast. Winds in California are crazy all over the state.

So is it that the wind blows the fire so fast that they would have been unable to abandon the car? Like maybe the fire surrounded the car first?

In some cases, trees come down and block exits as people try to evacuate. SoCal fires are dealing with Santa Ana winds right now and moving super fast. NorCal fire is only 5% contained.

All 5 vehicles were found on the same area. Could have been a blocked exit, left too late, or other things. Once the fire is there, leaving the car is impossible. You can't outrun a fire.

This won’t be published to the news at all, unless they find a way to blame trump for the fires.

Why is Trump not declaring this a national disaster and sending in troops or something to help...but we need to wait to block a few thousand people who aren't near the border...smart allocation of resources

Troops cannot fight fires. This is a county and state issue now - FEMA will come in after. Just stop with the finger pointing - this is a dangerous time of year in California, people are dying.

Troops cannot do anything at the border either...I meant it as a waste of time and resources...of course troops can't fight fires but they could help with evacuation...Trump is a small finger pointing at everyone else but himself...

And your finger is only pointing at Trump! How about pointing your finger at the mayor or the governor of California?

The fire exploded in size, and moved extremely rapidly. It was on them before they knew it.
