It's very common in the US. Reveal did a podcast on this: Police guns are turning up in crimes, but ATF can’t talk about it https://www.revealnews.org/article/police-guns-are-turning-up-in-crimes-but-atf-cant-talk-about-it/ … via @reveal

Why the HELL are police selling firearms used in crimes??? Jesus Christ, the gun culture in the USA is so foreign to any of us who do not live there...WTF.

Well it's a valuable asset that was seized. Vs just destroying them and tossing in a landfill.

Guns are a bad idea. Even the police can't handle them appropriately.

Simple formula: the more guns cops sell, the more money they pocket. And these are the same guns used in crimes. This is a nice circular economy. Only trick is you can’t tell the crooks from the good guys. They’re all bad. Profiting from crimes by enabling more. #BlueLivesMatter

Wow what a surprise coming from a sanctuary state. Probably sold them to illegals as soon as they were released from jail. And the street cops have enough to worry about protecting citizens and their own lives while their bosses make the beat cops job more dangerous. Pitiful
