@UCF_Football should be in top 4. If they go undefeated for a second year and do not get one of the four slots especially after beating Auburn in the bowl that will just render the selection system a joke.

Auburn? Unranked Auburn? Perhaps after 5 years of this you can get a seat at the big boys table. 20 wins against questionable quality is meaningless. And next season you play Stanford? Again, not enough. Beat LSU in a bowl this year
-
Actually Auburn was ranked 10th when they played in the bowl and had beaten Alabama. So UCF beat the team that beat the national champion.https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.sbnation.com/platform/amp/college-football/2017/11/25/16698944/auburn-alabama-2017-results-final-score …

They won’t get in unless every team loses two games. I’m not even that would get them in. I’m in favor of an eight team playoff. That is where it should be capped. Five power conference winners and three at large.
-
Probably right but it is a shame. Not saying they would have won the championship, but we will never know. Every team should be able to go into the season with a shot at winning it all, but if they don’t you don’t have a legitimate system.
-
Completely agree. I’ve been critical from the start. When Ohio State got in before TCU the first year it was controversial. System is heavily weighted towards certain teams.
-
I grew up going to ECU football games and they are in same conference as UCF. How can teams like that go in and recruit players promising a shot at winning a championship when the system locks them out? Why play the games?

Why is Alabama constantly rewarded for playing absolute nobodies in their non-conference schedule?
-
And then they wind up in championship games and pummel their opponents. Who do you think should be there?
-
I think Alabama is the best team, but if they are unwilling to play anybody in their non-conference they shouldn’t get crowned with #1. Why play anybody if there’s no shot you’ll lose? I don’t question that Alabama is best, I question why they don’t play anybody.
-
Well, they play #4 LSU this week, so does that count in your eyes? And Miss. State next week...#21. LSU has taken them down before, then lost in championship game...
-
Those are conference games. Listen, I don’t argue they are the best team, but their non-conf gets worse and worse. My point: don’t reward somebody for a non-existent non-conf schedule. SEC is best conf - obviously.
-
I gotcha...who am I to argue anyway...I'm a Tennessee Vol!
-
I legit have no dog. My honest take is that Alabama could beat anybody whenever most of the time. They are ridiculous.

And the 'Bama "creampuff strategy" works again. Then, when they lose to 1-2 conference games, everyone will say, "but it's the SEC, those shouldn't count against them." Essentially, their playoff tickets are stamped before the season began.pic.twitter.com/UKuF67vQn5

Lmao Bama and LSU okay each other this Saturday I think? These rankings were a waste of time and shouldn’t be taken seriously at this point lol

Seems like this dynasty is turning college football into like “only one team” year after year. I like a Big Ten team “reopen” college football to everyone else by ending the dynasty or stop SEC conference overall. Norte Dame doing it is a great idea also.
