I disagree with the premise. I don't think we have become numb, at all. Congress has abdicated its responsibility, but the people are acting.
Not numb. I became angry after watching 5 LEOs murdered in Dallas & 3 more murdered 10 days later in Baton Rouge while media continued to stoke racial divide with lies.
Sandy Hook proved America is numb to all tragedy.
We're getting there. Trump's inability to address the issues properly as a voice of reason to the country is part of the problem. He stokes the fires of hate rather than diffusing. Trump inspires more hate among his followers.
it's organizations like YOU AP who stoke the fear and make people feel numb, YOU decide what tragedy deserves coverage and what you let slide and won't report on after a day - you ignored the violent rhetoric of the left for years now (WAY before Trump even decided to run)
Not all of us are numb but we are screaming and no one is listening.
I shall speak up for what I believe IS the majority. We've grown weary and sad and worried that our leaders have grown numb. We feel every tragedy and keep our hope for change alive. We will NEVER give up on guarding our decency.
Well honey...just head to Chicago. Lots of work to be done there....a good place to start.
We can walk and chew gum. TOGETHER in good faith, we can lift all.
Mostly walking...little chewing. Chicago is just as bad as it has ever been and frankly...nobody cares...at least on Twitter hon. Platitudes do nothing.
We must do what we can and keep believing in our better angels. They still exist and can do wonders. Grass roots first, working and caring and doing. We cannot give up hope.
