It’s too bad to hear such terrible things happen in such a beautiful park. Safety is no joke but I’ve certainly tested my luck at this park, heck in the exact same spotpic.twitter.com/BwAzyo9OgR

Just seeing this gives me anxiety.

Many parks have scenic overlooks - these cliffs come to abrupt endings with drop offs that go hundreds of feet down - know your boundaries - one slip or miscalculation and tragedy - enjoy your hike - explore and adventure - but use common sense and be safe out there

One second your looking at GODs glory, the next your meeting him! Life is so unpredictable, tell those you love how much you love them as much as possible because you never know when GODs going to call.

Should have safety rails at this lookout point that protect people from this
-
Nah. People should take more care. Most people don't fall over the edge.
-
Did you read it the barrier is small
-
Many have died in other areas of the Park where they have barriers cause they crossed them & didn't listen to the warning signs. Many have visited this spot & not died, they must've been doing something they shouldn't.
-
Two visitors died in a fall from a popular overlook at Yosemite National Park that allows people to walk to the cliff’s edge, where there is no railing, an official said Thursday
-
Yes I know. And thousands if not millions have been to the Sam spot & not fallen. Other places in the Park have railings/barriers & people just go around them, some have died. They can put one there too, but someone will just go around & same thing.

I don't know how many people know couples who are in that park today, but I do. Trying to sort out condolence for the bereaved while hoping not to be among them is brutal right now. Have families been notified?

At a minimum there should be guardrails up there ridiculous or do not let people go that close !
@YosemiteNPS -
Common sense....should kick in and tell you to watch where you’re stepping when you’re at such a height...No?
