AP headline: "Kavanaugh wrongly claims he could drink legally in Md.” At no point did Kavanaugh say anything like this. He said seniors could legally buy beer, which meant there was beer at H.S. parties.

Didn’t he say part of the time he was in high school the drinking age in Maryland was 18 but said it was always 18 in nearby DC? He said he was allowed to drink in high school, but never specified where he was drinking.

He could have been wrong, but looking at the totality of his testimony it is just as likely he was lying.

No, he didn’t. He said it was legal to drink at age 18 so some of the seniors were legal. He did not say there wasn’t underage drinking going on also. He was not 18. He never said he was. Total misrepresentation of what was said.
