What the hell do you expect? People who buy in flood zones and local government who allow over building in the zones are going to get more flooding. Even NYC is getting more flooding and it was built on a swamp. So much for climate control doubters.

Probably the biggest contributor to the rise in policy holders is because it’s required in order to obtain an SBA loan. This fact isn’t mentioned in the article. We had no insurance because we aren’t in a flood plain. 1/

Yet when the army corps of engineers decided to release both reservoirs at once our entire neighborhood was inundated. Our non-flood plain house that’s sits upon a hill still ended up with 40” of water in it. Add that to the several feet to go street level to front door. 2/
