I think some folks read these extensions as savvy politics, but I don’t think those folks understand the panic and disorder it causes people to get so close to these deadlines just to extend the uncertainty. It doesn’t have the affect people think it does. We should cancel them.

I’ve had so many people asking me “My payments are $X hundred / thousand a month. What do you think is going to happen in May? I need to make sure I delay X medical procedure or prescription / sell my car / make X huge change to prepare.” The limbo & uncertainty is also a strain

Teach basic finance in the government schools and students will know that huge loans for degrees is a bad idea. And why is there a Federal Education Department when schooling is local? If the Feds were in charge all schooling would be equal in the country. Wouldn’t it?

Madame the US government should have these adults who entered into a contractual agreement with them - pay their debt. Apply those funds to the federal deficit. Win/Win.

No. You should lower the interest rate to 0% and have people fulfill their obligations that they agreed to. I worked my ass off to pay off my loans in full. Are you willing to refund me and the countless others our payments? If not how is it fair to cancel student debt?

, why not help all those who were financially impacted with loss of income, etc. whose credit scores were severely impacted? Fix the credit scores for them so that they can start borrowing again.

My city is losing its 157 year old college and a Christian University because of no money! I live in a small town and if nobody is paying the tuition bills causes schools to close! How do you propose to pay teachers? Pay power and water bills? DO YOU.EVER THINK????
