For those asking why, it's because racial essentialism is bad. Racial essentialism is when you see a person's skin color and assume things about them because of their skin color. (It's also strange in this context since these individuals represent diverse constituencies.)

The senate actually needs more Black people (especially Black women). You can use your “influence” and help get some of these Black candidates running for senate elected next year.
