This is why Congress needs time to actually read this package before voting on it. Members of Congress have not read this bill. And by the way, it’s not just members who need to see the bill ahead of time - YOU do. The PUBLIC needs to see these bills w enough time to contact their rep to let them know how they feel. Members are reeling right now bc they don’t have time to consult w/ their communities.
How crazy would it be to have a bill which JUST dealt with direct payments to humans. Then let another bill deal with small business, and another for all the porkbarrel stuff which is always included in these things?
Im Canadian, we are going into lock down, right now, I can apply for benefits and have them in two weeks. Watching what the American people are going through hurts my heart.

Perhaps that's why McConnell kept rejecting relief bill after relief bill, aside from general malicious intent. To ensure that any negotiated package would not have time to be read, reviewed, commented on. Running out the clock seems to be a standard GOP strategy nowadays.
Something I'm not understanding. This is $900bn bill, with every adult getting $600. With ~300million adults, that equates to $180bn. So where the hell is the rest going?
