All of these opinions miss the point of the impact of favorably gerrymandered political districts. Let us also NOT forget the tactic of interfering with the census and the impact of those actions on future outcomes as well!

Except the argument here isn’t ideological- are purple communities not on the internet? You can run a moderate message & not change it at all & my message still applies. Dems must run like it’s 2020, not like it’s 2005. That has nothing to do with ideology. It’s about capacity. twitter.com/PaulRieckhoff/…

How many of the house seats lost were in gerrymandered districts? End deep red gerrymandered districts. Register as a Republican and vote in every primary for moderate Republicans in gerrymandered districts. Once into the general vote your choice.

And that's where we failed. If Republicans redraw districts again, it's another ten years of more of the same. There's no more worse example than Wisconsin. A state split between the two parties with almost a super majority of Republicans in control.

Thankfully and hopefully Michigan's new Redistricting Commission will fix a horribly gerrymandered Mitten to create districts where the best ideas and candidates are chosen by the voters, not where the politicians choose their voters.
