One narrative in this country that we need to turn on its head is the lie that immigrants are “takers,” or represent a weight on society. It’s wrong. Immigrants are *makers.* They create+offer opportunity. They aren’t a weight to carry; in fact, they are our nation’s shoulders.

It certainly is. Its amazing how people don't realise they wouldn't be here if not for immigration. They think because they can trace their family back a couple of generations they're not of immigrant stock themselves. Proud to be 1st gen brit from my mother's side
