“Real America” is code for white evangelical men in rural areas and this is nothing but politely disguised nationalism.

Roughly 80% of Americans live in urban areas. 17% of all Americans are Latinx, 13% are Black and 6% are Asian. There are more women than men. Less than one third of Americans even own a gun. This crowd is nothing like the “real America.”
-
Guns don't kill, people using them kill. One of those "white nationalists" also stopped a guy using an AR15 with his own AR15 that was wiping out a church not long ago. It had a mix of whites, Latinos and colored worshipping. people live behind Twitter and don't know real world
-
Yeah but ... do you not see how zero AR15s would have solved the same problem without anyone getting shot?
-
Then he would have used something else. Those that want to kill. Will. It has been that way since the beginning of time. You can’t stop it you can only defend yourself and loved ones from it.
-
But we can create barriers to prevent these people from easily accessing military grade firearms. Use the same logic for locking your doors. If I wanted to rob your house, I would, but I bet that doesn’t stop you from locking your doors at night. Common sense gun laws r the locks

Banning firearms to prevent violent crimes is like banning cars to prevent DUIs.
-
in... that... it would work...?
-
In that the price to freedom and the detriment would be greatly outweighed by the benefit.
-
What tangible benefits have the USA reaped in the last 2 decades from its current lack of gun control? I can name significant benefits to multiple fields for cars so please if you can name some for guns please do.
-
I can’t speak for USA, but speaking for myself, it saved my family’s lives. Since you’re so compassionate, you should understand why that’s important to me.
-
But gun control laws wouldn't prevent you from getting a gun or even keeping the one you currently have. It just means making it harder for everyone so that we have less mass shootings, and assault weapons aren't freely given to almost anyone.
-
In addition to that, cars are heavily regulated with lots of restrictions in place to benefit the common public. I.E Permit test, license test, age restriction, class restrictions, insurance requirements, etc. Why is it preposterous to expect the same of guns?
-
I’m not familiar with every law and regulation in place pertaining to gun possession or car ownership, but I know that I can purchase a car without a five day waiting period and that I can drive a car even with a domestic violence restraining order or after a mental health hold

Most members of the
@NRA believe that Robert E. Lee was a great general. True story. -
Well, if you look at him holistically, and learned about the tactics he employed and how he led his troops in battle he was. We all will admit that slavery was abhorrent and a stain on history but many Americans died on both sides for what they believed in. Read a book already.
-
Um no Lee was a terrible General and a butcher of men once Jackson was dead and Longstreet was wounded Lees record turned to crap because those two men gave him the reputation he had
-
You know I think you've made an excellent point. Stonewall was a prized adviser to Lee. The lose of Stonewall seemed to take the a bit of the .... improvised tactics out of the equation.
