Excited to present my recent work this evening. Early embryonic explants from zebrafish pattern themselves in the absence of yolk geometry and signalling - Trying to communicate our findings to anyone who wants to come along!

The passing of a generation Phil Leder pioneer of Molecular genetics, enabled completion of Genetic code by realizing that a single sRNA with an aa could bind ribosome by just a 3 letter mRNA. Amazing days. Low throughput: High output.

Good first! For my part I still think that reviews should have word limit (as a way to pinpoint the essentials) but NOT comments, which are for the interested reader/afficionado

Also, worth reiterating: peer review != journal publishing.

Very sad indeed. Fortunately, other things stay as they are; The man carries the heavy stuff and the woman is folding the flag. We are safe

I don’t understand the attack on preprints (because of the “virus is engineered” MS). *Owing* to the preprint the problems were identified & it didn’t reach the public. Someone forgot that “vaccines cause autism” was published in the Lancet? (Retracted after many years of damage)

2/2 but..this makes me add something to the statements of sorrow going @. It's from a place in we stayed in a few years ago It is not from the UK! Surely many have have similar messages of sympathy. Something valuable has died

1/2 Have refused to deal w/ yesterday’s event. Having lived in the UK for> 35 years & thought we were all part of something good/inspiring, like so many people feel the date signals a move backwards. Did you think a Big Ben could send time Backwards?

not sure, but e.g., my anecdotal sense is that imagers are way more receptive to MR physicists saying "your signal is garbage" than statisticians saying "your model is garbage", even though the latter is often easier to fix

Finished teaching partII . Always a privilege to be able to share new thoughts, approaches and data in DevBio with students and feel that we can move beyond the gene centric view into Systems approaches

knows no border. This is us 🇫🇷🇩🇪🇹🇷🇮🇹 . Today is a good opportunity to remind ourselves of how wonderful modern science is. I am thankful for the past generations who have built the 🇪🇺, which makes all this possible .

Much awaited and informative study on This should give some pause for thought in the field; not that surprising really but interesting. Like Extended data F2, excellent summary of protocols

Does single cell RNA-Seq predict gene dynamics? We just had to find out ... by lineage tracing ... in hematopoiesis. Introducing LARRY 😁. Awesome collaboration with Fernando Camargo and . Kudos for trailblazing this field!
