Ah, easy questions this evening I see... Hilariously there doesn't seem to be any demand for community, so I don't think it's possible.

I think it's either necessary to run a cult and have community be one of the tenets, or else run a workplace and impose community using 'culture starts at the top'.

Then why does meetup exist? Why do liberals use housing policy to keep out minorities? Maybe a better question is, how can we sell segregation without being detected?

Does meetup have a dollar cost? If it doesn't have a cost, it won't be valued. If it's not valued, the members won't invest. If there's no investment, there's no possibility of community.

You can't sell segregation without being detected, but you can maybe arrange it so the segregation can't be persecuted.

An example of semi-effective segregation is the Bay Area, with housing costs. I wonder if an internet system could get people to self-segregate on a massive scale without needing those people to be rich, using nothing but in-app currency.

2. What about a learning algorithm where people train the machine based on revealed preference to match people to communities, this enabling separation.

A very clever way of pretending. Proggies are persecuting self-consciously and if they don't get their way they will notice immediately.

The only reason the financial segregation works is because even proggies know pissing off rich people is unwise.
