Starting to think the moral is the opposite of the empathetic.
Whenever people are behaving according to moral principles/social justice/equality they become radically terrible human beings, and demonstrate a complete lack of understanding of the one they judge. Whatever process in the brain does one shuts down the other.

I see what you're saying. But how can you identify a terrible human being with no moral principles of your own?
-
Postulate: There are no crimes that are not also violations of empathy. But there many moral acts which are violations of empathy.
-
Yet isn't giving such significance to empathy basically creating a sort of moral principle?
-
People want to separate morality from the cognitive act of putting themselves in other people's shoes because they are cognitive misers. Abstract moral principles are an attempt by cognitive misers to escape the duty to perform cognitive labor.
-
I agree. Abstract moral principles are empty forms - yet truly moral behavior, at the end of the day, is all about the concrete particulars.
