i do think "completely open borders" is a fine goal to take as a thought experiment. like, 1, what would such a world have to look like, for that to be in any way viable? and 2, is there a practical recipe for getting there from here? ...

the answers would appear to be, 1, pretty awesome tbh, but 2, no, not where "practical" means something this generation could accomplish on purpose. better to target smaller, local improvements (neighborhood, town, etc) and hope for cool leverage and synergies in quality of life

Globalism turns the world into a dumping ground. Free trade encourages the first world to dump e-waste on the third world, and the third world to dump refugees on the first. Borders force first world countries to recycle and third world countries to give rights to their people.
