The large aftershock 15 minutes ago was around M5.1. That's preliminary but close. It was the second largest aftershock so far. The aftershocks are nerve-wracking, but we want to stress that they are what we would expect for an earthquake like this. http://earthquake.alaska.edu/event/20420230

Is there a way to find out what the chances are of another large earthquake hitting today or this evening? Or can we just expect aftershocks? I heard from a well respected friend that he said to expect another big one as early as tonight?

@globaltrickster Here’s the official USGS aftershock forecast: https://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/eventpage/us1000hyfh/oaf/commentary … Larger quake very unlikely, 4% chance. Magnitude 6+ aftershock is somewhat more likely, 27%. 5+ very likely—78%, probably more than one.
