Chasing small-ball deals with McConnell and letting him pick your cabinet guarantees a depressed base and big GOP gains in 2022. McConnell will pick your pocket for two years before robbing you blind. If there's a double runoff in GA Dems can still take the Senate. It's critical.

We. Also. Don’t. Need. A. Senate-confirmed. Cabinet.
Trump taught us this. Don’t bring a knife to a gunfight. Don’t let the most odious man in the history of the Senate set the terms.

Truth: we need to get BACK to the norms of pre-Mitch, pre-Trump. We need to PULL BACK powers of the executive (reserving executive orders for specific situations, for example.). Sadly, as long as the Senate is in GOP hands, Biden's got to use every reckless power Trump took.

Greatest mobilization effort in US history should be coming to Georgia.
The question is will it anger white people if out of staters try to tell them how to vote. I fear that is what happened in some of these states the Republicans held despite being lapdogs for Trump.

Every single cabinet member can be “acting” secretary of whatever. Trump taught us this. If McConnell won’t approve, ignore him. Work for the Georgia runoff and then ignore him again. My sights are on the midterms.

Totally agree. The Biden cabinet should include a few GOPs.. But McConnell doesn't call the shots...

And if Rs keep Senate, still - fight. Lose confirmation battles if you have to, but make them work for it.

Biden shouldn't give McConnell a single word when it comes to picking the cabinet and whatever else. As he says "Elections have consequences"

Any chance of going around McConnell and striking deals with Romney? Any way to force McConnell to take up issues, or does he have a single veto point on everything in that chamber?

I support giving McConnell nothing. Focus on what is clearly presidential purview, take executive action as necessary and let the Congress try to stop us. Even if we wait two more years we can do a lot on the foreign policy side.
