If a whistleblower filed a formal complaint with an Inspector General about women in prison camps getting forced hysterectomies but the victims were predominantly white women, there would be a lot more coverage.

According to a complaint filed with an inspector general women are being forced to undergo hysterectomies on American soil. The women happen to be predominantly Hispanic. There's no mention on the front pages of NYT or WaPo. If the victims were white there would be more coverage.pic.twitter.com/ZpSuQqRzKb

In the face of historical patterns of major outlets downplaying harm to black and brown victims, it is hard to believe that the lack of widespread coverage is merely due to seeking confirmation. Major news outlets have covered much less than a formal complaint filed with an IG.

You have white supremacist in the Whitehouse, who inherited an apartheid justice system. What could possibly go wrong?

I keep waiting for everyone to get as outraged as I am. I didn't understand why no one was talking about it, but now I do. No one knows. The media isn't reporting this, so no one knows it's happening.

I was beyond outraged when I heard. My parents grew up in Europe while the Holocaust happened. This is on par with that and the Tuskegee experiment. I pray it is not true because this was done with my tax dollars.

Slow the roll. It’s been less than 24 hrs since lawfare article about complaint. I am thinking news organizations are vetting story rather than just repeating lawfare blog

It’s the same with the child separation story. It was ongoing for months and legacy media only started covering it after the viral video of Senator Merkley at the Walmart housing the kids. It was the same with Ferguson which was only picked up after it went viral on twitter.
