As a firefighter, it is my to inform you that after nearly 9 years of Tory austerity, the fire service has been decimated. 12,000 Firefighters axed, stations closed and fire engines scrapped. The result? Response times and fire deaths are up. You are now less safe.

Poverty is systemic. It can happen to any of us. An illness, grief, job loss and life can easily spiral. This is because politicians see people as statistics and see sanctions, rather than support, as the solution. Poverty is a political choice, therefore it can be eradicated.

Firefighters have had their pay, pensions and profession continuously and viciously attacked by the Tories since 2010. But do you remember when firefighters fiddled their expenses, took billions in bonuses and paid no taxes? No, neither do we.

We congratulate the on a magnificent victory at the Court of Appeal in a judgement handed down in December. In the coming weeks PCS will be involved in talks over issues arising from the 2018 valuation of the Civil Service Pension Scheme.

My fire service tried them years ago to tackle small fires out in the open. They got rid of them when they realised they are pointless and not cost effective. They were staffed by 3 firefighters and called small fire units. They had no BA capability whatsoever.

How is Grayling still a government minister? The fact he still is, with the list of his incompencies getting higher by the day, shows how this govt are finished. The Tories still being in government, but not in power, is having catastrophic consequences almost by the hour.

Today is , the day that every year highlights and brings utter shame to our unequal society. The fact top bosses pocket an average yearly wage by the end of today whilst 14m people live in poverty, many of whom work, is disgraceful. This obscene inequality must stop.

Dubbed “Fat Cat Friday”, 4 January is the date by which the average CEO of a FTSE 100 company pockets the equivalent take-home pay of a typical full-time worker in the UK.

It is an outrage that by the end of tomorrow the top bosses will have earned more than the average UK salary for the year. We need tough action to stop this sickening inequality with worker representation on boards & strong trade union rights just to start with.

The government can learn a big lesson from Greggs over the introduction of their : Listen to what people want, deliver it (in golden pastry if possible) and importantly, do not care in the slightest what loud mouth bigots like think or say about it.

Up and down the country, Fire Services are trying to replace traditional fire engines with these useless things because the Tories have continually slashed funding to the fire sevice. You'll be told that it won't put you at risk by Fire bosses. You be the judge. Feeling safe?

The audacity of private rail companies awarding themselves £3.6 billion over the last decade in wage boosts & dividends, regardless of the continous poor service, is staggering. This, whilst hiking prices 36% since 2010. Fat cat profiteering at its worst.
