When will the leaders of the dept. show STRONG support for us??? Supt Johnson: "Go watch the video and judge for yourselves " NO! How about " There have been over 1500 people shot in our neighborhoods this year. These officers were out there protecting innocent lives!"....

.....their response and actions were 100% justified. Those of you who were out there last night protesting this shooting owe these men and women an apology. But no, rather than taking a stance like that when the officers were right they will try to appease asshole behavior.

We had 8 years of Obama & Holder lying instead of an honest dialog. Inviting BLM to the White House & supporting the false narrative of "Hands Up, Don't Shoot" & NEVER correcting it! SO many things could have helped! I'm ex LEO wife 30+yrs Time for change!

Seems pretty straightforward. Resisting arrest and reaching for a gun. So what’s the protesting about?
-
Don’t you know that black people are completely innocent and that they aren’t supposed to be arrested or shot because lord knows they don’t commit crimes. (Sarcasm)
-
Right, because there isn't a litany of incidents in which police have used excessive force against minorities. The force here was justified. Sadly, because of the aforementioned occurrences, police don't have the benefit of the doubt. Don't be racist, ur better than that.
-
A litany of incidents is an overstatement. The police are no more excessive to minorities than they are to whites. You've been fed a lot of BS from the MSM that paint cops as bad racist. Police brutality does exist, but it's rarer than you think and has nothing to do with race.
-
This well researched article would contradict your assessment, but NYT is deep state MSM. And also, 9/11 was an inside job?! Study Supports Suspicion That Police Are More Likely to Use Force on Blackshttps://nyti.ms/29EdjnY
-
So you like stats ? How about that a black male is 4 times as likely to commit murder or a violent crime ? How about the fact that blacks make up 13 % of the gen pop but total over half of the murders ? You wanna cherry pick some stats like MSNBC , lets get some perspective
-
You're completely changing what the originally discussion was, which was police brutality on minorities, and my stats spoke directly to that discussion. Your stats, wherever they came from, are simply a red herring not related at all to the initial conversation.
-
You are conveniently leaving out the point that police are less likely to use deadly force on black suspects. So there goes your argument...

You have 3 armed cops around you in a high crime area. If he'd just put his arms behind his head or on the wall he'd be alive right now but no instead he takes off with a loaded weapon acting all erratic. Brilliant!

Exactly!

the detainment of ths person was chaotic not even the best way to engage a person CPD ...he has a weapon and CPD in light of police relations decide to LUNGE for ths man then shoot to kill? DISARM FOOTPATROLS AND TRAFFIC OFFICERS
-
What are you watching? Have you ever been a cop? Do you have any LE experience?
-
I think that’s an irrelevant question. Minorities and have second amendment rights and we pay taxes for police services. This means we have a right to question and disagree on the tactics that they use in OUR communities.
-
Yes, everybody has a right to question whatever they want. But, people should educate themselves and use logic before making ignorant statements such as the one I commented on.
-
IMHO you are blind and ignorant. Clearly the man was shot and then turned. As I stated before , if one complies , they’re dead. If they dont comply they’re dead. This is why he ran due to the above and being CPD is known to abuse / overescalate situations
-
I’m blind and ignorant because I’m using facts? The video clearly shows him pulling away and attempting to draw his weapon. Unfortunately there is no audio but I don’t see any shots being fired until he puts his hand on his gun and attempts to draw it after the scuffle.
-
That’s not what I see. I see a person being harassed by police who wanted no part of the interaction. The police escalated that situation by grabbing him and pulling his shirt up. He tried to get away and was killed for it. His hands by his waist was reaction from being shot
-
This is him clearly drawing his weapon. And an investigation doesn’t have to be consensual. If he was giving signs that he was carrying a concealed weapon (a felony) that gives them legal reason to stop him and talk to him. Terry vs Ohio. Supreme Court ruling.pic.twitter.com/8NMSnAPoRw
