    Two additional nonfatal overdoses reported last night. Detectives are determining if there is any connection to yesterday's potentially lethal batch & working to trace the supply chains. Recreational drugs are inherently dangerous & mixed with fentanyl they are deadly.

    Last night in Falls Church, Virginia, 6 adults were found unresponsive after consuming a potentially lethal dose of suspected cocaine laced with fentanyl. Chief Kevin Davis warns the greater Washington area of a potentially lethal batch & urges extreme caution.

    This is being investigated as a death investigation resulting from a fatal shooting. Adult male victim is deceased & a woman suffered non life threatening injuries. A person of interest is in custody & detectives are gathering facts. Details to follow once we sort everything out

    Detectives continue to investigate the case in the 7900 block of Janna Lee Ave. Updates will be posted to our blog, when available.

    TRAFFIC: Today around 3pm, a service member tragically killed in Afghanistan will be traveling through Fairfax County. A police motorcade will escort the hearse with helicopters above & heavy presence of officers lining roadways to honor the fallen hero. Route is I-66E to 495S.

    By comparison, over the same time In 2020 we had 6 homicide victims that stemmed from 6 incidents. Of those 6 incidents 4 had a gun that was used to commit the crime.

    So far in 2021 Fairfax County, Virginia has had 18 people taken from us by homicide from 15 incidents. Of those 15 incidents, 10 have had a gun used to commit the crime.

    Gun violence continues to plague our communities, including Fairfax County, VA. Despite being the safest jurisdiction of our size, we are seeing unacceptable increases in gun related homicide. Today we join VA Atty Gen. to discuss strategies.
