I am struggling to wake these days. When I look over to the river that was and the angle of the sun it's higher. The light makes me sleepy.

I found that I was at the bottom of a great hill. So naturally I walked up it. Some beautiful ruins at the top, I stood for a moment.

I went a long long way East. Then south a little, and then East some more. Then the cloud joined some others and I couldn't spot it anymore.

I went for a long walk today. I picked a lazy looking cloud (for they are much faster than monsters on windy days) and followed it a way.

It's like wading through a drift of snow, this air. I long for the kind of air that grabs you, that is richly cold, like a tolling bell.

Anyway this is all as to say, even though the snows are still with us, the air is too warm at the moment. Too thick and claggy.

I feel the texture of cold, the way it lays against fur and skin. But it doesn't endanger me, so it's never rough or burning.

Monsters have an acute awareness of where they are in relation to the sun and it's activity. This is how we know to hide and hibernate.

I find myself talking to you a lot about the sky. Today it was big billowing blue. And tonight pricked with stark light.

The wind is big and brash and the light gold grey it reflected off the snow and made everything feel quite otherworldly today.

All of the snow people I make today end up wearing paper hats and I don't know why
