Calling for unity when there are marginalized (read: oppressed) human beings petitioning THEIR OWN SPECIES for basic human rights, (i.e. freedom, justice, etc.), is cynical, patronizing, and dehumanizing.

Marginalized (oppressed) humans have called for unity through polite requests, protests, pleas, demonstrations, demands, legal advocacy and more for years.

Instead, the answer oppressed humans are given is more subjugation. To make it palatable it’s renamed “reconciliation.”
Show this thread -
Never mind that reconciliation is not possible when oppressive humans treat the humanity of oppressed humans like a bargaining chip. Deriding anyone opposing the practice as uncivil.
Show this thread -
How is it uncivil to reject the commodification of one’s humanity? The claim is without merit. So is the expectation for the oppressed to facilitate the unity and reconciliation process.
Show this thread -
What is uncivil is the failure of the human species to recognize all of its members as such. A failure that continues to lead to the physical, mental, and spiritual dehumanization of humans deemed worthy of oppression.

The undiluted violence and vile rhetoric humans direct at members of their own species is as telling as their methods for justifying its practice.

Therefore, it is never the job of the oppressed human to fix nor reconcile nor tolerate an oppressive human.
