      Officers can only use deadly force in very narrow circumstances to defend themselves or others from imminent threat of death or serious bodily injury. Omahans deserve to see the video.

      This tragedy cannot be divorced from the racial justice reckoning we are in. Black Nebraskans have been significantly overrepresented in OPD traffic stops and arrests. Across the state, Black Nebraskans are 6x as likely to be killed by police than white Nebraskans.

      We've already fielded calls and texts asking how to help. Join us in demanding the Omaha City Council table the police union contract while this plays out. It contains provisions that shield officers from accountability and it cannot move forward as-is. https://citycouncil.cityofomaha.org/council-members
