This is about making sure everyone feels welcome as they practice their fundamental right to vote. We partnered with @OutNebraska, @nebraska_table, @CivicNE, @BLACKandPINKorg and the Professional Transgender Resource Network Nebraska to put together this 2020 guidance.

Tips for success include - Using respectful language without assuming gender. - Knowing it's okay to ask what name a voter would like you to use and their pronouns. - Apologizing and moving forward after a pronoun mistake.

- Expecting that someone's appearance may differ from ID if they are among the very small group of voters that need to confirm identity w/ documentation and choose to do so w/ ID. (Only applies to first time voters who registered by mail and did not verify eligibility earlier.)

- Keeping it private when you learn about a voter's transgender, GNC or nonbinary identity. - Validating how voters present themselves, like you would anyone else.
