In Omaha, those calls were silenced, suppressed and criminalized by a 10 p.m. curfew. Unless Mayor Stothert does the right thing, the curfew will remain in effect tonight.

Peaceful disobedience, like peaceful protest, does not provide cause to forcibly disperse a protest. Only violence or a clear and present danger of violence enables officials to declare a protest unlawful and shut it down.
