    Absolutely right. This private review process falls far short of real accountability and transparency. It's also a blatant reversal from OPD's promise the video "will be released for sure."

    NEW: & I just watched Omaha police body camera footage of an officer fatally shooting Kenneth Jones in Nov. The World-Herald contends the videos should be released to the public. State law doesn’t restrict Chief Schmaderer from releasing it

    "A lot of your communities might not be over policed by mine is. North Omaha needs relief from over-policing. I’m tired of getting on my phone and seeing another black person killed. We are not getting over any PTSD, we are living it every day."

    The verdict brings us closer to accountability. As National perfectly captures here - there's a difference between accountability and justice.

    BREAKING: Derek Chauvin has been convicted of the murder of George Floyd. For the first time in Minnesota state history, a white police officer has been held accountable for killing a Black man.

    Cities and villages cannot outlaw or criminalize abortion. It is a fundamental right protected by the Constitution. We're aware of these new Nebraska ordinances and exploring our options, including litigation if necessary.
