Amdmt #60 rejected.
This would have allowed providers to be fired, demoted or disciplined for providing medically necessary care consistent with standard of care practices. This fails to sufficiently protect providers or pregnant patients.

This amendment would have unnecessarily attempted to limit the language around patient care.1 reply 0 retweets 4 likesShow this thread -

Lawmakers are not medical providers.
The definition of “standard of care” is more appropriately left to the medical/health community. #waleg#ProtectPregnantPatients1 reply 1 retweet 7 likesShow this thread -

amd #66 rejected.
An individual who was outright refused to even be admitted to a hospital - should certainly have the same right to sue as a patient who is admitted but then has their care delayed/denied.

@senpattykuderer on support of this bill, " no health care provider should have to choose between their job and treating a patient".1 reply 0 retweets 5 likesShow this thread -
SSB 5140 is NECESSARY because hospitals across our state are delaying and denying critical access to care for pregnant patients, simply based on a hospital's policies. This bill is critical. Our report details many of these life endangering events.https://www.aclu-wa.org/docs/report-protecting-pregnant-patients …
