It's time to repeal the outdated and cruel abortion ban in New Mexico. 77 percent of New Mexicans believe in the right to safe, and legal abortion—and they are demanding that their legislators take a stand for reproductive rights in our state.

  2. Congress gave the government exceptional surveillance powers to pursue foreign spies. It is abusing those powers to go after Americans in ordinary criminal investigations.

Fair chance licensing removes barriers for people with a record and makes it easier for them to support their families and move on with their lives. Tell Governor Lujan-Grisham to give fair chance licensing a message. 505-476-2200

States like Texas, Oklahoma, and Nevada have all passed fair chance licensing bills because they know removing obstacles to jobs improves public safety. Why isn't New Mexico joining other states? Call the governor and ask her to give HB 325 a message by tomorrow. (505) 476-2200

We need your urgent help. Call Governor Lujan-Grisham’s office today and tell her if she’s serious about increasing public safety to give a message to HB 325 - which would remove needless restrictions - by tomorrow. (505) 476-2200.

451 restrictions prevent thousands of New Mexicans with a record from obtaining licenses needed to work. Why are we making it harder for people to obtain employment when research shows access to good jobs strengthen the economy and increase public safety?

👏👏👏 "New Mexicans deserve better than to have their health care, their bodies and their lives controlled and restricted by anti-abortion extremists and by lawmakers who fail to stand up to them."

HB 108 would amend the Government Conduct Act to prohibit state employees from handing over New Mexicans’ sensitive, private information to federal agencies unless it is deemed necessary to carry out the function of the state agency or it is required by a court order.

The report reveals a pattern and practice of state employees handing over New Mexicans’ private data, including immigration status, homeless status, and information on their family members, with little to no questioning, and without a subpoena or an order from a judge.

Research shows that so-called “tough-on-crime" bills have failed to make communities safer for decades, yet legislators are ready to recycle these same outdated approaches.

New Mexico was making progress toward criminal justice reform and public safety, but the push to punish has returned to the Roundhouse in 2020. In the coming days, there are a slew of bills scheduled for the House Judiciary Committee that will decimate New Mexican families.
