MIAC operates with little accountability and transparency, and yet it has enormous power to surveil and store information on private citizens. It poses a tremendous threat to our privacy and First Amendment rights.

In a whistleblower lawsuit, a State Trooper alleges MIAC
illegally kept a registry of gun buyers
spied on camp counselors at the Seeds of Peace summer camp
spied on protestors, including those opposed to the CMP pipeline

From the BlueLeaks hack, we found out that MIAC was surveilling racial justice activists from Portland to Presque Isle.

The MIAC is exactly what watchdogs feared it was: a highly secretive threat to fundamental constitutional rights. Terminating it would preserve our constitutional rights.
